From Hollywood blockbusters, Japanese manga, Korean series, and now Bollywood is invading us.
Bollywood is the informal term popularly used for the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, referred to as Hindi cinema. The name is derived from Bombay (the former name for Mumbai) and Hollywood. The term is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema although it is only a part of the total Indian film industry, which includes several regional film industries sorted by language. Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centers of film production in the world.
Lately, I have found out that Indian movies are full of wits with stories that will entangle you through twists and turns getting you surprised in the end leaving you wanting for more.
One Bollywood movie that inspired me a lot is 3 Idiots.
A story of two friends (R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi) embarking on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey, they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash, and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey through memory lane and the stroy of their friend - the irrepressible free-thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan), who in his unique way, touched and changed their lives. It's a story of their hostel days that swings between Rancho's romance with the spirited Pia (Kareena Kapoor), and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani). And then one day, suddenly, Rancho vanishes....
Who was he? Where did he come from? Why did he leave?
The friends who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them three idiots. Where is the original idiot now?
Finally, in misty mountains of unparalled beauty, the friends find the key to the secret.
Three idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as it is funny, as wildly entering as it it insighful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits; self-actualization.
3 Idiots is a reflection of what life should be.
First, a school should not be a factory of machines. Students are not meant to be caged inside a professor's perspective. Let them soar, free to express their ideas, opinions, complaints and emotions. Life is not a journey of intelligence alone. High grades do not assure a bright future because in the end, those who have the courage, the will, the spirit nd the heart to grow are those who will prosper.
Second, do not live for the expectations of others. Each man is born with his own path to stride and own footprints to carve. Do not cross your path because you have to but because you love to. Life is a race. But afterall, you do not need to be the first, you just need to be the best. Because best people always have a room on top.
And lastly, follow excellence....and success will chase you. Always remember, all is well!
